Melastoma affine also known as Harendong (Sundanese) senggani, senduduk (Malay) , kluruk
(Java), kemanden (Madura), and yeh mu tan (China) is a herbaceous plant of the family Melastomataceae. Senggani leaves contain saponins, flavonoids, and tannins, so this plants is useful in helping accelerate the healing of chicken pox disease.
Harendong efficacious to overcome:
- indigestion of food (dispepsi), bacillary dysentery, diarrhea,
- hepatitis,
- vaginal discharge (leukorrhea), thrush,
- excessive menstrual bleeding, uterine bleeding outside the menstrual period,
- nosebleeds, blood stools (melena), bleeding hemorrhoids,
- inflammation of the walls of blood vessels with blood clots in the channel (thromboangitis),
- breast milk (ASI) is not smooth,
- cassava poisoning, drunk liquor,
- dropsy,
- abscess
